An International Academic Calendar Starting in August, Enabling a Smooth Transition to International Schools Rather than following the standard Japanese school year that begins in April, the kindergarten adopts an internationally aligned academic calendar beginning in August. This makes enrollment smoother for children returning to Japan from overseas and for international families, while also facilitating an easier transition to international schools in Japan and abroad after graduation. In addition, through our partnership with our affiliated organization, Tokyo International School, graduates are offered access to a priority admissions process, as well as opportunities to attend school information sessions and campus tours. 3.
